Wine Tours 2010

 

La Rioja Sunday October 24th

Join us at Plymouth and we sail at 1630. On board there will be a wine tasting (though not necessarily Rioja wines) before dinner together.

Monday Disembark Santander at 1300 and drive inland via Bilbao to the first tasting at Bodegas Lan with some tapas to ease along the tasting. Continue to Logrono and check into Hotel Marques de Vallejo in the old quarter for three nights.
Dinner tonight at El Cacheterro in Calle Laurel.

Tuesday We drive to Haro to visit Bodegas Ramon Bilbao. Lunch at leisure in Haro. Afternoon visit to La Guardia, the hilltop village for sightseeing, then tasting at Bodegas Pacaios. Return to Logrono and then dinner tonight at Restaurante Entrevinos by the cathedral.

Wednesday Our morning visit is to Bodegas AGE in Fuenmayor. We continue to Cassalareina near Haro for lunch at La Vieja Bodega.In the afternoon we drive to Bodegas Ramirez de la Piscina at Sonsierra for a visit with one of El Cid’s descendants. Free evening in Logrono

Thursday We depart after breakfast and drive the short distance to Haro to visit Bodegas CVNE. We now continue to Santander to catch the 1500 sailing to England. Dinner together on board.

Friday We arrive in Portsmouth at 1630 and the coach then returns to Plymouth Docks.

Cost £599 Single supplement £80 (includes: ferry crossing with cabin, two breakfasts and two dinners and wine tasting on board ; three nights’ 3* hotel accommodation with buffet breakfast in Spain; all visits and tastings as described; two dinners and one lunch.)

The only pick up will be Plymouth though if there is a group of 10 or more in any specific location we would consider bringing the coach to them.
