Spanish Minicruise 3 days

Brittany Ferries’  “Pont Aven”, the 40,000 tonne cruiseferry,  is a most attractive vessel for a short break.  Step aboard and let the world go by for three days as you cruise to Spain and back. The big bonus is that the ship sails to Santander, a most charming  resort on Spain’s Northern Coast, the capital of Cantabria, and on arrival , the ship berths almost at the city centre.  The service is a triangular rotation with the ship sailing from  Plymouth on Sundays or Portsmouth on Wednesday and returning to the other port on Tuesdays or Fridays. When you arrive home on the dates shown below  a coach is laid on to return you to your original joining port.

Ex-Plymouth

The “Pont Aven” sails from Plymouth at 1630.Once you board you may go directly to your cabin and install yourself then begin to explore the many amenities of the vessel.
You’ll find a self-service restaurant, coffee shop, gourmet restaurant and piano bar. The main bar is where live entertainment takes place during the voyage. There’s a beauty shop and duty-paid shop selling tobacco, beer and wine at keen prices. A bookshop completes the shopping area on Deck 7.
There are two cinemas which show the latest films and an indoor swimming pool . Finally at the aft of the ship is a large area of the deck available for taking the sun.
We reach Santander at   1230(Spanish time)  on Monday and you may leave your belongings in your cabin when you go ashore. The ship berths in the heart of this charming city and the main square is an easy 10-minute stroll. Just a few steps away from the Terminal there are various bars and shops which will give you the authentic feel of real Spain.
The ship begins its return crossing at  1630  and once again, the amenities are there for you to enjoy. The award-winning Le Flora silver service restaurant offers a unique and very attractive opportunity to dine in style and watch the ocean glide by.
The cruise continues next day as we enter the English Channel and sail eastwards to Portsmouth where we dock at 1700. After clearing Immigration and Customs formalities you will find a coach waiting to bring you back to Plymouth. The drive takes about 4 ½ hours dependent upon traffic conditions.

Passengers from the Portsmouth area may like to know that there is a train leaving Portsmouth just after 0900 on a Sunday which arrives in Plymouth in good time to catch the 1630 sailing that day thus enabling them to walk off the ship at Portsmouth when it returns to England on the following Tuesday. If you are planning to do the Mini-cruise in Summer, make your booking early as capacity is limited.

The “Pont Aven” sails from Portsmouth at 1100 on Wednesdays . We reach Santander at 1200 on Thursday and you may leave your belongings in your cabin when you go ashore. The ship berths in the heart of this charming city and the main square is an easy 10-minute stroll. Just a few steps away from the Terminal there are various bars and shops which will give you the authentic feel of real Spain. The ship begins its return crossing at 1500 and once again, the amenities are there for you to enjoy. The cruise continues next day as we enter the English Channel and sail eastwards to Plymouth where we dock at 0930. After clearing Immigration and Customs formalities you will find a coach waiting to bring you back to Portsmouth(Ferryport and the Hard). The drive takes about 4 ½ hours dependent upon traffic conditions.

Individual Bookings

If you don’t require our coach transfer you can make an individual reservation on either route on any date (subject to availability) and £10 per person is deducted from the cost.
(NB There are no 2-bedded cabins on the ship or 2-berth cabins with porthole)

Booking Conditions

Full payment is required is required at time of booking. No charges are made for credit or debit cards. If you wish to pay by cheque or postal order please make the booking and then send the payment within the next 5 days. Cancellation. If you cancel more than 7 days in advance we will refund 85% of the cost. If you cancel after that there is no refund and if you fail to show up there is no refund. There is no charge to amend names.
