Jazz in Brittany

Join us on a 5-day Jazz break in Brittany with the Panama Jazz Band of Bristol. This entertaining band will play for your pleasure during the crossing on the first day and then after dinner each evening at the hotel. Non-jazz fans are most welcome to join us and they will find plenty of holiday interest in the planned programme and they can pass on the jazz if they prefer.

We set off at 1230 on Friday and sail from Plymouth to Roscoff on Brittany Ferries’ flagship “Pont Aven”. The sail takes 5 ½ hours offering plenty of opportunity for shipboard painting.
After we land in France we head southwards through the Monts d’Arrées to Concarneau and the Hotel de l’Océan, a 3* establishment on the Baie de la Forêt. We stay for five nights and buffet breakfast and dinner with wine is included. All rooms have private facilities and there is a covered swimming pool for your added enjoyment.
On Saturday morning we make for Quimper, the ancient capital of Cornouaille, where it is market day. Plenty of atmosphere at a typical French street market. We leave the town in the early afternoon and return to Concarneau for extended sightseeing or relaxing by the hotel swimming pool or on the beach outside the hotel..
On Sunday, after breakfast, we’ll take you northwards to the port and resort of Audierne to spend a little time sightseeing before travelling on to Pointe du Raz or Pen ar Bed in Breton, or Land's End. We return to the hotel by way fo the medieval village of Locronan.
On Monday we drive south to the major port of Lorient. You can spend the day here sightseeing and shopping before we return in the mid-afternoon and we'll call in at the local hypermarket before reaching the hotel..
On Tuesday we leave the hotel and head up to Morlaix and then on to Carantec for a stroll by the beach. Our final port of call will be the "Red Cash" Beer and Wine Warehouse for cheap drinks.
We then catch the 1500 sailing to England which reaches Plymouth at 2000. The coach will return to the original pick up points

Included in the cost: travel by executive coach; sea crossing to France; four nights’ half-board accommodation with buffet breakfast and 3-course dinner with wine; all excursions as detailed.
