We arranged our first foreign holiday in 1962, to Ostend, and subsequently operated an annual tour to differing destinations. We became incorporated in 1974 with a full scale programme of coach tours across Europe. In the following years our programme expanded and we added air tours to our portfolio and in the late 70’s we were one of the first Operators in the country to offer package tours to the USA.

On the ground we continued to expand and at one time had offices in Plymouth, Bristol, Exeter and Portsmouth.

In 1986 we were taken over by what is now known as First Group who shortly afterwards decided that they didn't want to be in holidays. As a consequence we resumed the Wessex Continental operation but on a smaller scale.

Since the 1990’s we have concentrated on a more specialised range of holidays using the services of Brittany Ferries out of Plymouth so as to make the travel within the UK as minimal as possible and especially avoiding the drag to and from Dover which takes up so much time. Additionally we added Wine Tours and Jazz Tours to our list of specialised holidays so that today we have a programme of rather exclusive holidays mainly based on the sea crossing from Plymouth. For Westcountry clients this means a quicker start to their holiday and it also means that clients from other parts of the country have easier access to us than having to go to Dover.

As well as our published tour programme we also handle the arrangements for many diverse private groups such as Social Clubs, Retirement Clubs, Firms – large and small, sports clubs, Wine societies – the entire spectrum of social and business life in fact! These groups are not just Westcountry based-we go everywhere!
