

Led by trombonist Colin Kingwell, the Colin Kingwell's Jazz Bandits have been in existence since 1956. They have played in Denmark, Holland, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Cyprus and U. S. A .The band plays in the New Orleans style and is popular in clubs and festivals throughout the U.K. An ideal band for dancing and rapport with audiences.
We leave on Sunday picking up as detailed below and drive to Plymouth to catch the 1600 Plymouth to Santander sailing . A cabin with private facilities is included. We anticipate that the Band will play during the crossing. On arrival in Santander at 1130 on Monday we set off along the coast for San Vicente de la Barquera, a pleasant resort and fishing port where we’ll make our first stop. We continue the short distance to La Franca and the Hotel Mirador de la Franca for three nights. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening, followed by entertainment from the Jazz Bandits.
On Tuesday we drive into the foothills of the Picos de Europa and through the Hermida Gorge to Potes, a small mountain town. Those who would like to try the cable car will stay on board the coach and we’ll drive further on to Fuenté De. We return to Potes for sightseeing then back to the hotel. After dinner, the Band will play for your entertainment.
On Wednesday morning we set off for Llanes, a small resort and fishing port a few miles west of La Franca where we spend the morning. We resume the ride around midday and drive into the country to the old Roman town of Cangas de Onis where we have arranged a typical tapas lunch. In the afternoon we continue upwards to Covadonga, an important Spanish heritage site. We return to the hotel and after dinner, the Band will play.
On Thursday we leave the hotel after breakfast and head for Santillana del Mar, one of Spain’s most important and prettiest heritage towns. Around noon we resume our journey to the outskirts of Santander to visit the Hypermarket and then to the port where we catch the 1530 sailing to England. Once again, we anticipate that the Band will play in the early evening.
The ship reaches Plymouth at 0930 on Friday and after disembarkation the coach returns to the original pick up points.
